Reese Witherspoon is one of the most respected actress in Hollywood and seems to do nothing wrong until now. While Witherspoon and husband, Tim Toth were in Atlanta on Friday, they were pulled over not for pictures and autographs but to be served with a DUI by Atlanta police.
According to CNN, Witherspoon had her lawyer work out a potential deal that would put her in a pre-trail intervention program, so this incident wouldn’t go on her record. The Atlanta court’s website the program is an alternative method to resolving criminal matters other than prosecution. The date to check in with the judge to show that Witherspoon is complying with the program is for May 22.
This incident couldn’t have come at the worst time for Witherspoon, who is now press tour for her new film, Mud. Now instead of focusing on the movie, everyone is going to be talking about her recent charge and forget to even ask about the movie. This is Witherspoon’s first fumble in her life during her career,so people are going to be talking about this one for a while. The best thing for her to do is hold her head up, admit her mistake, and move on.
